From the rich and spectacular coffered ceilings of the noblest and wealthiest buildings, to the humble pieces of pastoral craftsmanship, to the making of all kinds of furniture (especially the bargueños, typical of Toledo craftsmanship), the carving of images, the composition of altarpieces, the making of barrels for the production of wine, the handcrafted manufacture of musical instruments – especially Spanish guitars – and so on and so forth, to complete a long list that shows the intimate relationship of the province of Toledo with wood. Woodcarvers, cabinetmakers, carpenters, ashlar makers, restorers and coopers are spread throughout the province, maintaining the essence of their work and, at the same time, looking without complexes to the innovative proposals of this frenetic present.
