It has its origins in a very old tradition. This consisted of the owners of a large number of olive trees inviting the people who had taken part in harvesting the olives to a celebration in which dances were organised and the carts and wagons that had transported the olives to the mill during the season, which could last two or three months, were decorated. In this way, they celebrated the end of the harvest at the level of the individual crews.
Over the years, this festival has grown with the organisation of many important cultural activities.
