MONTEARAGON INVITES US TO DISFRUTAR DE SU FERIA MEDIEVAL DEL VINO LOS DÍAS 28 y 29 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 2024
Montearagón has a deep-rooted custom of harvesting grapes and then making wine and its derivatives, as is evident from the presence of grapes on the municipal coat of arms.
In 2006 it was decided to pay tribute to this product and its customs of artisanal production of pitarra wine in private homes, celebrating that year the I Medieval Wine Fair.
A FAIR OF TOURISTIC INTEREST TO REMEMBER AND EXALT THE ARTISAN CUSTOMS OF WINEMAKING
Since that year, this festivity has been celebrated on the weekend closest to St. Michael the Archangel (Patron Saint of the Municipality), recreating the arrival of the neighbors after the harvest and the first processes of winemaking.
MEDIEVAL MARKET, TRADITIONAL PERFORMANCES AND WINE TASTINGS ARE PART OF THIS MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL.
During the opening days, musicians and parades will animate the market with their presence in the mornings and afternoons.
Each edition brings together wineries from all over the region and surroundings to offer visitors a taste of their wines at the various stands set up in the Plaza de la Constitución. Over the years, the number of wineries has increased and the place of origin of the wineries has varied.
A MEDIEVAL CHARACTER TO PRESERVE AND PASS ON A MILLENARY CRAFT SUCH AS WINEMAKING
The medieval character of the festival makes it an ideal festival to visit with family and friends, because not only can we enjoy good wine but we can also taste various local products from the surrounding municipalities and participating artisans.
Demonstration workshops of various crafts, most of them related to wine culture, such as the clay or glass workshop and the wine workshop itself, allow visitors to learn how to make wine by hand.
