Territory inhabited since ancient times due to its strategic location. Romans, Visigoths, Mozarabs and Jews passed through its lands, forging the cultural entity of this town. It was at the time of the Christian Reconquest when this place became a town in the 15th century and its corresponding justice roll was erected to administer its laws.

The locality is located on a low mountain where hunting activity is favourable. Holm oak forests mingle with different pastures and cultivated fields that make up a landscape of great natural value. Those keen on hiking or cycling can explore the municipality and enjoy the contrasts of its varied natural landscape.

Triunfo de la Santa Cruz Parish Church

Temple built between the 17th and 18th centuries. It is a parish church with three wide naves isolated from each other by semicircular arches. It does not maintain the traditional orientation as it places the gable of the chevet to the north and the main façade, on the other hand, to the south. It closes at the head with a lowered barrel vault separated from the transept by a triumphal arch of the same design. The tower, of no particular architectural interest, is accessed from the first section on the left side, with the main entrance on the main façade. The art historian, Fernando Marías, tells us that the present church was built in 1758 when the previous parish church was destroyed by fire, and some details of the old church are known. Amongst the movable goods that this building treasures, we can highlight a set of images of excellent workmanship, such as the Christ of the Good Death, which presides over the main altar. The Gothic tabernacle is interesting and has an octagonal baptismal font made of terracotta and glazed earthenware, it is in the 15th century Mudejar style and is paired with those of the villages of Camarenilla and Villamiel.

Alamín Castle

Muslim fortress from the 14th century. This is a group of buildings with walls, a hunting lodge and an annexed chapel, located on the privately-owned Alamín estate. Only a few traces of a very interesting Islamic fortress remain. It is therefore prior to 1085, the year in which Toledo and the surrounding area was conquered by the Christians. The entrance was from the south, from there running westwards along a curtain of which the foundations can still be seen to an extent of about 70 metres. It is about three and a half to four metres high on the outside. Around 1699, one of the Dukes of Infantado had a country house built on the perimeter of the castle with its chapel and the necessary outbuildings, reusing architectural elements from the destroyed fortress. The house has two interesting parts, the chapel and the main doorway. In both cases we find reused elements from palace and religious constructions transported there without being their original location. The chapel is attached to the main body of the house. It has two entrances, one from the interior of the mansion through which you can access the choir loft, and the other from the exterior where you can see the beautiful Mudejar Gothic doorway that was originally installed in the splendid palace of the Enríquez family in the town of Torrijos, which was destroyed in 1917 when it was unfortunately demolished for sale by its owners. This doorway is decorated with the heraldry of the Cárdenas and Enríquez families flanking the coat of arms of the Catholic Monarchs. The entire façade is made of ashlar masonry in berroqueña stone. The remains of the castle are so small that they can be classified as archaeological remains.

Pantheon of the family of don Brígido Recio

Its historicist aesthetic affiliation places it in the 20th century. It is built entirely of brick and has an austere decoration on its walls, in line with its purpose, in the form of pilasters, lintels, eaves with stepped eaves and pinnacles. The roof is resolved with a double skirt with a longitudinal ridge. Its location in the cemetery between above-ground burials further emphasises the quality of its proportions and workmanship.

Fuente del caño

Granite stone fountain, made in 1884, when Román García was mayor, according to the information engraved on the stone. In the centre is a pillar with four spouts, surrounded by a small pillar.
