AN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN THE TOWN OF QUINTANAR DE LA ORDEN IN TOLEDO BETWEEN 6 AND 27 JULY 2024.
From the 6th of July, Quintanar de la Orden will host the thirtieth edition of the XXX Festival Internacional de Música de la Mancha, which will bring together artists from different parts of the country and from the international scene in three weeks full of concerts and activities that praise and embellish culture and music, as well as the town of Quintanar, which will enjoy these days with pride and joy of hosting, once again, this festival.
AN EVENT THAT COMMEMORATES SEVERAL ANNIVERSARIES OF ILLUSTRIOUS FIGURES OF INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AND CULTURE TO THE DELIGHT OF ALL ATTENDEES.
The inauguration this year will be the responsibility of the residents of Quintanar de la Orden who form part of the Municipal Symphonic Band, conducted by Sebastián Heras, in collaboration with the Castilla La Mancha Designation of Origin. This event commemorates several anniversaries: 25 years since the death of the great Maestro Joaquín Rodrigo; 35 years of successful career of the group Spanish Brass; 100 years since the birth of the painter Fernando Zóbel, founder of the Museo Abstracto de Cuenca, with a documentary of the project “Luz” by José Luis Temes, based on the music of José Luis Turina; the 70th birthday of the American composer Robert Carl, who will travel expressly to Quintanar de la Orden to attend the world premiere of a work commissioned by this Festival, and the 100th anniversary of the death of Joaquín Sorolla, in a concert with works of his time.
In parallel to the Festival, as every year, the “Diego Ortiz” Music Courses will be held, whose teachers and students will have a place in this programme. There will also be music from Zarzuelas, by Albert Nieto, and works from five centuries of our history, from the 17th to the 21st, with performers of the stature of the Trio Zaniah, the duos Saxperience and Deux Arts and Yohana Sánchez-Cruzado, winner of the Intercentros Melómano Prize.
