UNDER THE THEME “LAND OF LOGY” THE TOWN COUNCIL OF VILLARRUBIA DE SANTIAGO PROMOTES ITS CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE. ON THE 23rd FEBRUARY THE CUEVA DE LA YEDRA WAS INAUGURATED.
It is a unique space whose origin and creator(s) are unknown. It has a geometry and layout that indicates that it could be a meeting place or a place for meetings or rituals. Some heritage experts explain that the series of neoclassical arches may date from the 18th century, but the same is not true of its series of 11 decorative columns (since they are not weight-bearing), which are not known to date.
AN UNKNOWN HERITAGE TO SHOW VISITORS THE INTERLIGHTS AND IDIOSINCREDIBILITY OF THIS LOCALITY
This is probably the most unknown and strange underground construction in these parts, along with the synagogue of La Guardia, since no one knows what it is or what it was used for, nor is its date of construction known. It is located in the Plaza de la Libertad, and “it is believed” that it may belong to a set of galleries that run through the subsoil of the municipality.
Although it is not known what it was designed for, we do know that not so long ago it was used as a refuge during the Napoleonic wars and as a warehouse/storeroom for the house under which it is located.
A CULTURAL AND HERITAGE RESOURCE SURROUNDED BY MYSTERY THAT VISITORS CAN BE A PART OF.
The visit is free and must be coordinated with the Town Hall, which is in charge of showing the visitor this enigmatic monument. It is necessary to contact them through the following telephone number: 925 150 281 (Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Hence the importance of this town in the history of our country.
